Description
Background on the Aynsley Brand:
John Aynsley founded his pottery in Staffordshire, England in 1775 and focused on creating very fine bone china. Their tableware and giftware were cherished items.
Over the years Aynsley grew in size and reputation, exporting worldwide. Queen Victoria granted Aynsley a Royal warrant as supplier to the Royal household.
Both Queen Elizabeth II and Diana, Princess of Wales, chose Aynsley china as their wedding present from the British china industry. In 1970 John Aynsley and Sons was taken over by Waterford and renamed Aynsley China Ltd. In 1987 Waterford sold the company to Belleek in Ireland.
